    The Wind Europe 2019 Exhibition in Bilbao is two weeks away, and Liftra will be represented from both our department in Bilbao and headquarters in Denmark. This is a perfect opportunity to share ideas, and learn more about the latest developments within the fields of turbine installation and maintenance.

    At Liftra, we look forward to sharing our latest product releases, including a new craneless solution for major component exchange, the LT1200 Liftra Self-Hoisting Crane. As always, the purpose of our solutions is to reduce maintenance and installation costs to reduce financial risk in green energy investments.

    When lifting a full rotor on turbine with electric pitch control, a sling is typically enough to hold the tip end of the vertical blade. However, unlike electric-pitch blades, blades with hydraulic pitch control can turn only 90°, meaning the leading edge cannot be faced downward to allow attachment of a sling.

    Full rotor installation is still possible on hydraulic-pitch turbines with a blade tip clamper, and we have just upgraded our smallest clamper to support a wider range of blade types. Lifting capacity has been increased from 3 to 5 tons, while the wind speed limit has been raised to 12 m/s.

    Liftra Blade Tip Clampers now come with WLLs of 5, 10, 12, and 16 tons. Each can be adjusted to different blade thicknesses, and can be tailored to specific blade types upon request.
